About The Sailor Justice Project

The Sailor Justice Project is committed to increasing access to equitable funding for organizations and institutions positioned at the intersection of social justice and economic growth. Through grant writing, strategy, and education, we help remove financial barriers and create lasting pathways for progress. Our mission is to empower leaders to drive meaningful impact within their communities while building sustainable pipelines of support.

Our work is grounded in values that guide every partnership. We believe in social, economic, and racial justice, we advocate for human rights, and we foster inclusion and belonging across all communities. We affirm that language equity matters, that community health includes mental health, and that we thrive when we lead with abundance and care. These values shape our approach to grant writing and consulting, ensuring that every project amplifies voices and strengthens holistic well being for ALL.

Meet the Founder: Doria Wormbly

I am a social justice advocate, fighter, warrior, and truth teller. From the moment I could speak, I recognized the injustices around me. Growing up as a little Black girl, I was not given the chance to grow up before I understood what it meant to have my voice silenced by both foe and friend. Social justice has always been and always will be part of my life.

In this chapter, grant writing is my weapon of choice. I have never been one to stand by quietly, and now when my words meet permanent ink they breathe life into programs and pay staff equitable salaries. My social justice lens is what makes my grant writing so powerful.

The Sailor Justice Project is my way of sharing my power, my magic, and my ability to manifest abundance for the communities that need it most. Those who wish to silence me will be frustrated by my inability to fail. That is what makes me that grant writer.
